[Winston and Chloe by Jill Smith-Mott] Does your iPod lose its charge on the bedpost overnight ...: If you decide to try this yourself, I recommend taking pictures of the the orientation of the old battery and the wires that connect it (something I failed to do) because the extra length of wire (cable?) is hard to get situated back correctly.

Blog » » New Products & Free Fabric Friday: Looking through my indispensable moleskine notebook: 1) curtains for laundry room shelving, 2) finish dress made from 50’s pattern bought on eBay, 3) make pillows out of some random textiles my parents brought back from South America in the 70’s, 4) make a slipcover for my sofa, 5) re-design and re-do the half-assed cushion cover I made for the stool that the cats use to get to their food and water, and lastly 6) make one of those sandwich wrap thingamajigs out of oilcloth for my hubby’s lunchbox… we’ll see if I finish it all by summer’s end!

[Comments for Haven Kimmel's Blog] There Are Dirty, Smelly, Nefarious Yicky People In The World ...: George, alcoholism sucks, no doubt, but I have to say that if I’m functioning at my highest level and trying to find gratitude in my daily existence then I have to appreciate my alcoholism because I came from a dark, fucked-up place with absolutely no tools for living and, for me, alcohol first saved my life (for I surely would have imploded from the untreated pain), and then, when it turned on me, led me to a toolkit (through the steps of AA, then therapy) which has given me a life beyond my wildest dreams. Okay, that sentence is so structurally damaged that I can’t even address it, but hopefully the message transcends the shoddy construction.

[dooce® -] Mission accomplished | dooce®: As someone who's recently had to give up sugar (and white flour, and bad carbs, etc.) recently, I've experienced a brand new feeling, it's called "no worries or thoughts about treats." What I mean is this: My cravings for sweets, junkfood and all that stuff has gone away, as has the appetite that went along with it. I go out to eat and don't obsess over what dessert I'm going to have, I don't even think about it anymore.

[CakeSpy] CakeSpy: A Very Special Cake Poll and Giveaway: It's Cakespy's ...: My mom usually made cake from a box for birthdays, but we could have whatever flavor we wanted. I usually got chocolate, but one year I asked for a Harvey Wallbanger cake because it was made in a bundt pan, with orange cake mix, and glaze, and was therefore all high-class and unusual.

[Yarn Harlot] Yarn Harlot: Down But Not Out: Curious you should ask as yesterday one of my daughters friends looked at me in surprise that everything I had on coordinated. Now I have to admit that the fact I was totally in blue(jeans turtleneck, sweater, coat, hat and gloves) was a fluke but the hat was knit to go with the coat and the gloves kinda match and I've finally found a Mitt pattern that will let me actually have mitts that exactly match my hat (Boa eyelash knit with a regular yarn so it has warmth and memory) and the coat actually came with Mitts that are the same fabric as the outside shell (thank-you Linda Lundstrom her La Parka is piece of genius)
